Race to World First
I just watched the documentary Race to World First again. One of many viewings. I love that documentary, it really jazzes me up for playing whatever MMO I'm currently playing even though it is about wow. I like the idea that you can do whatever you want in life as a hobby and people can judge you all they want but it doesn't matter because it's what I'm passionate about.
I find myself having to defend my lifestyle from people who don't understand it but I'm quickly coming to the realization that I don't care what people think when it comes to what I play or for how long etc..

Curiosity
Watching the youtube feed for the landing of the curiosity probe to Mars. Very exciting stuff and I'm happy to see so many people tuning in to see what's going on with it. Here's hoping the space program ramps up one day. I want my fuckin ENTERPRISE!!!
SO yeah after all that work on the post below saying I want to play a warrior. I played the game in the stress test and ended up changing my freakin mind! I love playing the Guardian sooo much that I have to play one. There's no way it's not going to be my main. I think my least favorite weapon on the last BWE I played was the staff and I dunno if they changed a few things or if I just understand them better now but this time around it was probably my favorite. I love the idea of buffing other people so much.

So my plan right now for cementing everything else I need for my character is going through GW2 Wiki and looking under the sub headings on the main page until I have everything I need to know:
1) Race: Norn
2) Profession: Warrior
3) Server: Isle of Janthir
4) Trait Build & Weapon Choices: I would really like to go with a Sword+Shield / Rifle or Bow but I have to see how viable that is first.
- One problem with making this choice is that it all depends on what I want to do i.e. PVE PVE WvW.
- Control is probably going to be more important for pve and pvp as apposed to group buffs which would be more useful in an instance setting. I could just make 2 builds, one for dungeons with lots of buffs and one for the rest.
- Endure pain sounds like it's good for pretty much any purpose. But may have a long cooldown.
- There is a trait that increases precision by the number of inactive signets you have.
- Mixing Precision and crit damage would be a good combo. Discipline/Arms.
- Rifle/Sword is a good combo as they are both bleed based, Longbow is about burning.
- They did up the warrior range to 1200.

5) Personality traits: Dignity
6) Crafting: Armor + Weapon Smith. A lot of people will probably be doing this off the hop but I want to be able to make gear for myself and...come on... they're cool.

So today I cemented my choice of playing a Norn Warrior in Guild Wars 2. I'm getting pretty pumped and I have resubbed to the old Guild Wars 2 podcasts that I had otherwise quite listening too because I was experiencing a lull in my excitement for the game. I really really want to play right now and I'm sad that I missed the BWE 3 but not horribly since it was my sister's wedding I was attending, which was a pretty good time.
Now that I have cemented my class choice it's time to start looking up everything I can get my hands on to try to hash out as much as I can. It'll be that much less I have to figure out on release day.

Birthdays!
It's Ilia's birthday... technically right now! I can't believe it's already been a year since she was born. So much has happened in that time. It really makes me excited to see what the future is going to bring.
A few weeks ago I did up a memo to request an Occupational Transfer or OT from the Armoured trade that I am currently in, over to the RMS clerk trade. Basically I'm going from the combat arms using tanks over to office work. Of course that's mostly because all of my time spent in the Armoured Corps has had me in an office and I find myself enjoying that work much more than anything having to do with tanks. Maybe that makes me a weirdo to some of the people I work with but I really get a kick out of the boss sitting me at a computer and saying "Do this" and letting me figure it out, usually because I know more about computers than my bosses do.
I'm excited for Christmas. It's been quite some time since I saw my family and it will be good to see them again. Actually I'm kind of hoping that my OT might actually allow me to get posted back to Moose Jaw so we can be closer to our family which I think will be good for us and Ilia.
Monday will be my first full day at work with my 3 positions. I'm in dispatch, I work with the maintainers and I'm helping out the clerks. It's going to be interesting to see how I juggle all of these responsibilities and frankly it hasn't been going too well with my 2 positions that I have. I don't know what my leadership was thinking in getting me involved with maintenance when I'm in the process of an OT. Doesn't really make any sense to me. Whatever.
Well that's about it for now. CIAO!
