This blog is a place for me to ask questions, start conversations, and vent about things that both interest and or frustrate me. Comments are how questions get answered, conversations continue, and my ramblings are sated so please leave some.

Birthdays!
It's Ilia's birthday... technically right now! I can't believe it's already been a year since she was born. So much has happened in that time. It really makes me excited to see what the future is going to bring.
A few weeks ago I did up a memo to request an Occupational Transfer or OT from the Armoured trade that I am currently in, over to the RMS clerk trade. Basically I'm going from the combat arms using tanks over to office work. Of course that's mostly because all of my time spent in the Armoured Corps has had me in an office and I find myself enjoying that work much more than anything having to do with tanks. Maybe that makes me a weirdo to some of the people I work with but I really get a kick out of the boss sitting me at a computer and saying "Do this" and letting me figure it out, usually because I know more about computers than my bosses do.
I'm excited for Christmas. It's been quite some time since I saw my family and it will be good to see them again. Actually I'm kind of hoping that my OT might actually allow me to get posted back to Moose Jaw so we can be closer to our family which I think will be good for us and Ilia.
Monday will be my first full day at work with my 3 positions. I'm in dispatch, I work with the maintainers and I'm helping out the clerks. It's going to be interesting to see how I juggle all of these responsibilities and frankly it hasn't been going too well with my 2 positions that I have. I don't know what my leadership was thinking in getting me involved with maintenance when I'm in the process of an OT. Doesn't really make any sense to me. Whatever.
Well that's about it for now. CIAO!

TOR
So the release date is out. Dec 20th is the big day! Very exciting.
I spent 3 weeks in Wainright on exercise and returned to find Amber playing WOW once again. I didn't exactly cry when I signed up again because I really do enjoy playing that game particularly if I can get really into it. However getting really into a game like wow is hardly likely unless I dedicate some sleeping time to playing or ignore Ilia and... come on... you've seen her... how can you ignore that face?
I have 6 days off for Thanksgiving but things between the EX and coming home were so close that I didn't even really think about going away for it but my unit is telling me that I can't leave for some of these days off anyways so no big deal. We'll get home for Xmas anyways.
After these 6 days are up however I am putting in my OT paperwork. Stevie was nice enough to e-mail me a lot of her paperwork that she did for her OT so that should smooth things out. She said that hers was approved so I want to get mine in sooner rather than later. Probably after these 6 days are up. I'm excited and a little worried about it honestly. I don't want there to be a stigma against me because I'm getting out but frankly so many people are leaving the regiment one way or another that it feels more the rule than the exception.

EVE Online, NPE
Been playing EVE for 8 days now on the trial. I'll probably end up paying as Amber and I have been really really into it.

Family Visits =D
Well things have been going quite well of late. Amber is getting quite big and I'm looking forward to meeting my little bundle of poop.
Work has been going pretty well, not too many annoyances, no late nights, and extra leave days... thank you Trevor!
Tomorrow we are headed to the old home town of Moose Jaw where my family will be meeting together for the first time since my wedding.
Avery is moving to Regina very soon which makes me happy, even moreso it was quite the surprise.
Anyhow I'm going to read the first issue of Warcraft magazine I just got and some Harry Potter.

Poopsocking
Well last night was pretty sweet. I did something I haven't done in a LONG time and that's play wow till the wee hours of the morning.
That flock web browser I talked about on my last post is pretty sweet as far as social networking goes. It keeps all your sites like Facebook, My Space, Twitter etc. open at all times and lets you know when there are updates. The only problem is there's a lot of websites that have plug ins that don't work on it. Which is strange considering it's based off firefox and made by Mozilla so I dunno.
Today I'm going to do something I haven't done since like February, listen to the Casually Hardcore podcast and chillax.

Flock
Well I haven't updated this in quite some time but I'm trying out this web browser called "Flock". I've used it a few times before so I'll see how it is, it was pretty annoying before but this is a newer version.

Hey all
The wife and I are all settled down out in Edmonton. Loving it so far though I gotta say the first week or so was a bit of a shock for me I think. But now all is starting to be as it should.
She and I have been leveling some Alliance toons as of late. I know we're betraying our lifetime of being horde but sometimes being bad feels so good. And it's nice to play a character with good posture that isn't a Blood Elf for once.
We're really enjoying the experience so far. I'm doing the Squidface Mage thing and she's doing the Human Paladin. Prot paly/mage is like power leveling it's so completely overpowered. But doing something as simple as changing from Horde to Alliance has done a lot to refresh the game I've loved for 5 years. Especially from the point of view of a guy who loves the lore of the game.
I think today put into sharp focus how much you miss when you only play one faction in the game your whole play time. We did the Wrathgate event and man was it EPIC. I mean it was already pretty epic on Horde side but fighting through Undercity with Varian was totally a great time.
We've also made the commitment to start reading the quest text for every quest we get in Northrend on these toons. Frankly in the rush to get to 80 I usually just walk up to the !, click accept and go. But since I started reading all the quests I find I'm having a pretty good time. Naturally things take a little bit longer but that's a pretty good trade off in that I now know WHY I'm supposed to be slaughtering half the population of the continent.
Frankly I'm looking forward to getting to 80 and gearing up again. It's something I haven't done for a long time. I haven't been a raider since I left Unholy Aura last year and frankly it's something I miss a bit. Though my reasons for leaving still stand I miss being part of a coordinated group meeting up to accomplish a goal. We shall see what happens with this new server of mine.
Well that's all for me. Should probably get some sleep so I can be alert for Casually Hardcore and Octale and Hordak. Night =D
